Can you install Sims 3 Custom Content in the Folder?

Confusing? Let me eradicate. I am a very lazy person (I don't care make fun as much as you want) so after I realized all my custom content for the Sims 3 was in folders I started to wonder if I could just install it while the content was in their UNZIPPED folder. So is it possible?
