What should I write my 12-page essay about?

I need to start writing my argumentative essay, but I am completely clueless on what to write it about. I started doing near-death experiences and how it proves there's a hereafter, but my teacher says the essay needs to be about a change in a certain policy or a change in a certain value. So I began doing how homelessness needs to be eradicated in America, but I'm bored out of my mind. Help me figure out a light topic that is interesting enough to write 12 pages on.
